PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING YOUR IMPRESSION
Important Information
- All Soul Keep orders come with enough wax for a large-sized impression. This is because we recommend taking the full impression. We then create a silicone mold of the original so that it remains untouched. From there, we can choose the most beautiful area of the impression and either cut it down to your chosen size or keep it as originally taken. However, we recommend keeping it as close to the original size as possible to preserve its unique beauty. If the person is much smaller than the piece of wax, you can separate some of the wax , which will give you more opportunities to take the impressions.
- If you have a preferred mould, write number 1 on the lid of the tin.

To Begin
- The size guide you have is different to these images as you have enough wax to create a large size impression. If the person is smaller, you are welcome to remove some of the wax to create a small size impression.
- Lay out contents.
- Place the large piece of baking paper over the size guide - this is so the wax does not stick to the size guide.
- Make sure the persons finger is not too dry - you can moisten slightly by using a moisturiser.
Warming Wax
- Warm wax by rolling the wax between clean fingers. You can use a heating device, such as a hair dryer, candle, or simple sitting in the warm sun.
- The wax is to stay in ball form and become malleable. Remove any cracks in the wax to create a smooth surface.
Preparing Impression
Single or Multiple Impression
- Mould into your desired shape (a ball will create a round impression)
- Place onto the size guide (the size guide you have is of a large size. It is used so that the impression does not become too thin - if you are using a smaller piece of wax, please be mindful to not make it too thin)
Double Impression
- Once the wax is soft and malleable roll into a ball
Taking Impression
Single Impression
- Press finger making sure that the impression does not go outside the outline of circle
- Signet rings - please ensure the impression reaches the outline of the circle on the size guide so it stays in proportion with the ring.
- Hold for 2 seconds
- Slowly and gently lift off finger
- The way the impression looks is as your finished piece will. If you do not like the look of it, you can retake it until you are happy.
Double Impression
- Evenly press both fingers together on either side of the same ball at the same time
- Hold for 2 seconds
- Slowly and gently lift off finger and gentle place on size guide
- The way the impression looks is as your finished piece will. If you do not like the look of it, you can retake it until you are happy.
Multiple Impression
- Press fingers into the impression making sure that the impression does not go outside the outline of circle
- Signet rings - please ensure the impression reaches the outline of the circle on the size guide so it stays in proportion with the ring.
- Hold for 2 seconds
- Slowly and gently lift off
- The way the impression looks is as your finished piece will. If you do not like the look of it, you can retake it until you are happy.
Setting
- Repeat this process with the other wax. Two moulds are created for safety purposes

Returning & Packaging
- Once you have finished, carefully lift the wax impressions from parchment paper and very carefully wrap wax back in the smaller pieces of parchment paper with-out squishing the wax and place back in the black tins.
- Place in fridge until you are ready to place your order

- You may hold onto the impressions until you are ready to create your impression piece
