Soul Keep Impression Instructions - Putty
PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING YOUR IMPRESSION
HALI MOTIF ensures sustainability through using biodegradable packaging and environmentally friendly practices. To continue this movement and have a positive impact on our environment, please may you return your impressions in the packaging it arrived in so we can return your finished piece in the same packaging.
Important Information
- All Soul Keep orders are given enough putty for a large size impression. This is because we recommend taking the full impression and that way we can choose the most beautiful area of impression and cut it down to your chosen size. We do however recommend keeping it as close to the original size as possible to hold its own unique beauty. However, if the person or animal is much smaller than the piece of putty, you can remove some of the putty prior to mixing - this will give you more opportunties to take the impressions.
- The putty is best mixed in a cool environment.
- The time of mixing and taking the impression is up to 2 minutes
- If you have a preferred mould, write number 1 on the lid of the tin.
- If you would like an initial, write it on the lid of the tin.
- If you have any concerns regarding your impression please contact Breanna here before returning your moulds.
- Due to fluctuations in metal pricing and materials we recommened returning your impression within three months. If there has been a price increase after the three months prior to you returning the moulds, there will be a fee.
Studio Lead Times
- Firstly, we create a silicone mould of the original impression, that way we do not damage the original. This mould can then be used to create additional pieces or if one ever loses their keepsake. Due to this extra step, once we receive the impression kit back from you, the processing time is approximately 5-6 weeks.
- If you are creating numerous pieces from the one impression there may be an additional 1-2 week processing time
- If you would like to keep track as to whether we have received your returned impression, please keep the return tracking details located on the shipping label

To Begin
- Lay out contents
- Place the size guide on a firm surface where the impression will be taken
- All Soul Keep orders are given enough putty for a large size impression. Mixing
- Make sure the person or animal you are taking the impression of is ready prior to mixing putty
- Roll the pink and white putty together until a uniform (all pink) colour is obtained
- The working time of the putty is up to 2 minutes (including mixing time), so if you would like retake it you can within that time by re-rolling the putty.
Taking Impression
- Press finger making sure that the impression does not go outside the outline of circle
- Hold for 2 seconds
- Slowly and gently lift off finger
- Repeat this process with the other putty.
- Leave the impressions to set on the guide for approximately 10 minutes at room temperature, or longer if in a cooler environment
- Three moulds are created for safety purposes - 1 for you to keep and 2 to return to HALI MOTIF
Packaging
- Once the putty is set, gently remove the impressions from the size guide and place them seperately into the black tins.
- Place securely back into the boxes they were delivered in.
Returning to HALI MOTIF
- Make sure everything is securely placed back into the boxes they were delivered in.
- Place box inside the return post bag (if in Australia) and return to HALI MOTIF.

Impression Kit & Silicone Mould ONLY Orders
- When ordering your final piece, please write in the order notes:
"Impression kit - order number: ________"
- This way I can link the orders and refund you for the cost - If you forget to do this and an additional kit is sent, you will not be refunded for the original
- If your order included a silicone mould and you return your impression kit prior to placing an order for your finished piece then a silicone mould will be created and kept on file for when you are ready.
